Today we're releasing an update to our Keyword Difficulty tool that adds the much-demanded 'SERPs Features' functionality to results displayed for the Google US database.
What's New
Now, whenever you research a keyword using the Keyword Difficulty tool, you will notice the new 'SERPs Features' column in the results section of the report. As the name suggests, this column displays which (if any) Google features are present in the search engine result page for the keyword(s) you're targeting.
Practical Use
Since SERP features are the first webpage elements to draw a user's attention, competing with them can prove challenging. Thus, even if you're looking to rank higher for a keyword that has a low level of difficulty, it might not prove profitable if the search result page for that keyword contains a lot of such elements. That's why being aware of various features found in SERPs is extremely helpful for assessing a keyword's SEO potential.
We hope you like this update. Please let us know what you think – send your comments, ideas and suggestions to our team. Thank you for helping us make SEMrush better!
